יש צורך להניח במעמד נר מחומרים שאינם דליקים 

חייב לשבת יציב , יש להדליק את הנר לפני שמניחים על צלחת

לדאוג שיש מקום ללהבה סביב ומעל 

לא להדליק במקום שיש רוח חזקה , לא להשאיר בשמש

אם מכבים לפני סוף הנר להשאיר את הפתיל
