Japanese paper balloons or kamifusen are Made of sturdy waxed paper. These cute little balloons arrive flat ,can be inflated and reflated when needed, with a simple puff.
Kamifusen were actually originally designed as toys for children and used for a casual sort of volleyball, but nowadays also are used for decoration purposes.
*These traditional handcrafted paper balloons are made in Niigata prefecture in Japan.
By hanging from the ceiling , the balloons are swinging in the gentle breeze.
As the thin translucent paper let the sunlight through, they look luminous by the sunshine.
They are very beautiful and delicate product made by Japanese craftsman.
There is no string attached, but can be glued easily and used as decoration.

Developed in the 1890's, Kamifusen (or paper balloons) emerged as a charming alternative to the rubber balloon.
Created by the wives of fishermen during the winter season with handmade paper, this simple toy caught the attention of Japanese manufacturers in the early 1920's.
For those unfamiliar with the Kamifusen game, the objective is to blow air in the paper balloon and keep the multicolored Kamifusen afloat by hitting it with your hand.
